How often should I come in for a routine eye exam?
An exam every year is highly recommended. Those with a family history of eye disease, diabetics, or those who are taking medications that may effect the eyes should be examined twice a year. A yearly exam will not only allow you quality eye sight but it will also allow the doctor the knowledge to detect potential problems.

Do my eyes have to be dilated?
Yes, pupil dilation is extremely important because it allows the doctor to see into the back of your eye. This view can reveal signs of potential cataracts or glaucoma. Here at Advanced Eyecare we provide our patients with the option of either traditional dilation drops or retinal photographs. Retinal photographs provide our doctors with the same view of the back of the eye while as the patient you are not hassled with waiting around or the sensitivity to light that is generally associated with dilation drops.
Am I a candidate for Lasik?

Certain illness and disease may also affect your candidacy. Since every individual is different the only accurate way to determine your candidacy is to schedule a free consultation with Dr. Thompson.
